Show Low, Arizona: Aero Products, a prominent Bell CSF, has added the Bell 429 Field Maintenance (FM) to their already complete Bell Helicopter component overhaul service. In addition to the Bell 429 FM, Aero Products is set to add the 407 and 206 Series FM to their hangar facilities. This addition comes in response to a need identified by Aero Products to service contracted municipalities as they upgrade their fleets, and to support aerial fire suppression within the region.
Aero Products is committed to meeting both the needs of the community and the needs of their loyal customers. In 2018, Arizona Department of Transportation (AZDOT) and Salt River Project (SRP) both purchased new Bell 429’s, and according to Aero Products President Ted Johnson, “We felt it our responsibility to add the (Bell) 429 to our capabilities, in this way, we can continue to provide both AZDOT and SRP complete support.”
The request to add the Bell 407 and 206 series FM to our hangar facility came as a response to the overwhelming need to protect our community from wildfires. In 2002, the Rodeo-Chediski Fire burned over 450,000 acres, and then not ten years later, in 2011, the Wallow Fire burned almost 540,000 acres. Then again in 2016 the city of Show Low was put on evacuation notice due to the Cedar Creek Fire. Jeff Winn, Aero Products Vice President, had this to say about the need to support FM in our community, “Eastern Arizona is a staging ground for aerial fire support. With two hangars already on the airport, it was an easy decision to support operators with fire contract.”
In January, Bell Helicopter granted Aero Products Bell 429 FM. To date, Aero Products has one technician who has completed the 3-week FM course, and currently has one technician at the Bell 429 B2 course at the Bell Academy in Fort Worth, Texas.
